SIMS.net database engine change

Posted by Andrew Ferrier on Jul 25th, 2007

1.1 Capita have advised us that there will be a new operating engine for the SIMS.net databases. This means that the current existing engine in operation will need to be upgraded.

1.2 It is important that this upgrade takes place as Microsoft support for the current operating engine will cease.

1.3. Schools will be expected to carry out the upgrade procedures.

1.4 The upgrade needs to be completed after you have completed the August Main Release but before the November Main Release 2007.

What happens next?

Your technical service provider (Capita, EIS) will provide you with a set of clear instructions to enable you to carry out the upgrade successfully. If you haven’t received your set of instructions please contact your service provider immediately.
